Best Skin Care Beauty Tips That Are Right For You

Posted on July 31, 2008

One of the most important skin care beauty tips for a healthy and youthful look is to treat your skin right. People are spending thousands of dollars every year on beauty products with a hope to improve and maintain a beautiful skin. No matter how much you spend, the most important thing is to make sure you purchase the product that is right for your skin type.

It is also important to have a good cleansing, moisturizing, and exfoliating regimen to help your skin maintain its elasticity and texture. If you have the time, you can also learn how to take care of your skin by reading up on various skin care beauty tips on Internet or browsing the health magazines. Finding the right products for your skin is not that hard these days as all these resources are available online and in major bookstores.

Note that using the right products is only half of the solution, the other more important half is having a healthy diet. It is through a proper diet and nutrition that you could help improve and maintain the healthy look of your skin. If you have ever had a day where you have eaten a lot of chocolate or candies, only to discover some pimples popping out on your face in the morning, then you would be able to understand the importance of proper diet.

The skin is the largest and important organ in our body. It plays an important function of purging toxins out of our body through sweat. If you eat something that is unhealthy, not only your body will suffer but also your skin. When your body is unhealthy, it will reflect on your skin. So eating a healthy and well-balanced diet is important not only for your skin but the entire body as well.

Another useful skin care beauty tip to remember is making sure that your body has sufficient amount of vitamins. Eating foods that are rich in vitamin A, C & F is as important as your daily cleansing and moisturizing routine. These vitamins not only help your skin maintain a healthy complexion, but also help the rest of your body. Besides eating foods, these vitamins can also be obtained through supplements.

In conclusion, the best skin care beauty tips are therefore the combination of healthy diet, good cleansing routine and the right skin care products.

Summer Beauty Tips - Getting Ready For Swimsuit Season

Posted on July 31, 2008

Summer’s round the corner. You know what that means. Bikini season. Even now, in Spring, shorts are back. More skin is exposed as temperatures soar. Does that make you nervous?

If you’re fine with that, good for you. For the rest of us, it is time to take stock of the past season’s excesses. That roll of flab. Pasty skin. How would that look in a swim suit? Forget the swimsuit, how would that look in shorts and a tank top?

Let’s start with the easy part. Getting your skin soft, silky and touchable. All you need is a scrub and a moisturizer. A simple daily rubdown in the shower with dead sea salts would slough off the dead skin cells beautifully. If your skin is dry, then you could mix dead sea salt with olive oil into the paste after your shower. Rub all over your body and rinse off. It is rather messy but effective.

After every shower slather on some moisturizer all over your body. It would leave your skin soft and touchable. Get into the habit of caring for your skin all over before summer so when the time comes, your skin would be lovely.

Getting your skin radiant is the easy part. The tough part is getting your body sleek enough for that bikini.

You have three possible options.

  1. Leave it. Who cares? It’s your body anyway.
  2. Fake it. You might even get through the entire Spring and Summer without anyone knowing.
  3. Get in shape so you’d be able to flaunt what you’ve got. There’s still time if you start now.

If you prefer the first option, then go ahead.

If the second option appeals to you, you could invest in shapewear. You know, control tops stockings, girdles, the works and wear them all under your summer clothes to hide it all under a long skirt. If you arms bother you, then you could wear long billowy sleeves as camouflage. If you have to get into the water, look for a full swimsuit that would hold in your tummy. Or you could hold your breath until you get into the water and hold your breath until you get to the changing room and back into your fat binding arsenal.

You can hide only so much. It would be better if you whip your body in shape. If you start exercising now and eating moderately, you’d make enough progress by summer to be proud of the way you look in your swim suit. Personally, I prefer tae bo as it gives visible results quickly. Plus it is a lot more fun than jogging on the treadmill or doing repitive exercises in the gym. In any case, pick a workout system you find enjoyable and can stick with through summer.

Exercise alone isn’t going to help if you eat like a pig. I have a problem with my weight and it stems from my emotional eating. The doctor said I had to lose weight for health reasons and the only way I’d succeed was if I had my mouth sewn shut. I didn’t of course, but do try to moderate my food intake. Having a food journal where you record down everything you eat and drink (yes, drinks can contain a lot of calories) then tallying up the number of calories you’ve consumed can be quite an eye opener. Do that. Then decide what you’re going to cut down in order to lose weight.

Now on to the pasty skin issue. Forget about baking yourself in the sun. Exposure to those UV rays would only increase your chances of getting skin cancer. Do what the celebrities do. Spray on your tan, or at least smooth it on with a sunless tanning lotion. Do it after exfoliating your skin as these self tanners work by coloring the dead skin cells on the surface of your skin. If your skin is flaky, the tan would be patchy.

Start now and you’ll more than happy to face summer in your bikini.

Top 10 Tips For Hair Care

Posted on July 31, 2008

Hair is composed of protein which in turn is made up of fibres. The main protein in hair is called keratin. Everyone’s hair is composed of different textures, shapes, styles and qualities. To decide out what product to use, it is important to determine your hair type. Once this is done, you will be able to incorporate a suitable hair care product into your daily beauty regime. The following tips for hair care, if followed, will give you nourished, manageable and beautiful hair.

Tip 1: Be Gentle with your hair
The first tip, is to be delicate with your hair. Your hair is the most fragile when it is wet or moist. Rigorous scrubbing or washing of your hair and scalp causes the majority of hair damage. Wash your hair gently, section by section in an orderly fashion. This will enable you to wash it thoroughly without damage or breakage.

Tip 2: Less is more
The 2nd tip is to avoid over washing your hair. Over washing your hair will strip the natural oils that protect and nourish the scalp and hair. Washing your hair every 2 to 3 days is usually sufficient. However, there are some types of hair that need more frequent cleaning, Korres’ range of products are gentle enough to use everyday.

Tip 3: You are what you eat
Tip number 3 is something that a lot of people fail to do. This will not just give healthy hair but will benefit your whole body. Tip number 3 is ensuring you eat a healthy balanced diet. A healthy diet will provide the nutrients and vitamins to essential to nourish your hair and prevent split ends, dandruff, or hair loss. Most of all, it keeps your hair shiny and helps it retain the moisture needed by your hair.

Tip 4: Avoid sun damage
Tip number 4 requires you to take the necessary steps to avoid UV ray exposure. UV dries out your hair strands leaving it looking lifeless and dull. When you go out in the sun or to the beach, wear a hat or a bandana to protect your hair from harmful UV rays.

Tip 5: Minimise damage
The 5th tip is making sure you deep condition your hair after colouring or using heat styling products. Many women do not realise the damage caused by hair dye or heat styling. It can cause hair loss, as it strips the hair of its healthy nutrients and vitamins. It can take a long time to rebuild and repair damaged hair.

Deep conditioning re-bonds damaged hair and revitalises chemically coloured hair follicles.

Tip 6: Dry with care
Tip number 6 is to be careful with that hair dryer. The recommended distance between dryer and hair is 24 inches. Do not apply it directly on the hair as this will increase the damage done by the heat. The best option is to let it air dry naturally.

Tip 7: Have a trim
The 7th tip is to get your hair trimmed regularly. Getting your hair trimmed regularly will snip off any split ends cropping up and will promote healthy growth for your hair. Loose strands and split ends can make you look unkempt and messy.

Tip 8: Get manageable
Tip 8 is to use a light gel or mousse to keep those unmanageable strands in place to give you a clean pleasant hair style.

Tip 9: Let your hair relax
Tip 9 is to let your hair relax from time to time. This means letting it breathe by not using any styling products or tying it up in a ponytail. You should avoid hair clips also.

Tip 10: Healthy scalp, healthy hair
Tip 10 is to look after your scalp and your scalp will look after your hair. For example a head massage once a month will work wonders for your hair. A head massage stimulates your roots and improves circulation to the scalp. This promotes healthy hair growth.

It can be difficult to fit proper hair care into a busy day but these tips only take a few minutes but will make the world of difference. Choosing the right product for your hair is the first step, but that is not enough to make sure your hair is as beautiful and manageable as you want it to be.

Skin Store has been dedicated to providing the highest quality skin and beauty products. For example, Korres shampoo and conditioner range is popular with customers for they get salon quality products at high street prices.

Beauty Tips For Eyebrows

Posted on July 31, 2008

Eyebrows are a natural frame for the eyes and should be in proportion to the face. Perfectly shaped eyebrows will enhance the look of your eyes, your face and will accentuate your makeup while; ill kept, unruly eyebrows will hide the beauty of your eyes.

Your eyebrows add strength and definition to your face. Well groomed eyebrows enhance your beauty
You should pluck eyebrows before bedtime so any redness will disappear overnight. In shaping your eyebrows use your facial features.

Use a pair of slant edge tweezers which grip hairs easily. Comb hairs one way and then the other to remove loose hairs.

You should pluck hairs between the brows and any stragglers. Never remove the hairs from above your eyebrows.

Pluck each hair individually close to the root. Work in the direction of the growth.

Always avoid over plucking. In defining your eyebrows choose a shade similar to your natural hair colour.

When using a pencil you should apply in small, feathered strokes. Starting at the inner corner work outwards.

Blend the colour with a brush. To tame stray hairs just use hair gel and comb through to neaten.

Six Steps To Perfect Eyebrows

1. Brush brows upward. Carefully trim any excess hair above the top of your natural arch. Be careful not to take off too much at the ends or you’ll have brow “bald” spots.

2. Look closely at the shape. Your brow should begin at your tear duct, peak at the outer edge of your iris and end at the outer corner of your eye. “Many women make the mistake of taking off too much at the outer corners,” says Weston. “This slants the brows upward and makes the person look perpetually angry.”

3. Prep your skin: Soak a cotton ball in astringent and wipe the brow area.

4. Hold a pencil in line with the outer side of your iris and note where the peak of your arch naturally occurs. From the arch to the outer corner of the eye, your brow should fall in a straight or slightly curved line, depending on the look you’re trying to achieve.

5. Hold the tweezers at a 45 degree angle and pluck the stray hairs below the brow line. “Pull in the direction of the hair growth, or you may end up breaking the hair mid-shaft,” says Engle. Follow your natural brow shape, not the trends. “It’s very difficult to let your brows grow back into their natural shape after you’ve plucked them to death trying to achieve a particular look,” she says.

6. Fill in sparse areas with a freshly sharpened brow pencil - be a bombshell; use light, quick strokes to draw in hair. Brow powder will give thin brows overall definition, and is great for a more natural look. Using the brow brush, sweep powder up and outward over brows. If you’re a brow novice, a tinted brow gel is a foolproof way to keep brows in place. Lightly coat brows using upward and outward strokes. Wipe off any excess and allow it to set. Get Glowing!
